Feeling Ruffly (& Very Cold)

First day back at college meant it was back to business and to take the lunch time OOTD more seriously (shoutout for Eden for her amazing new camera). Although a proper camera means amazing quality photo, it also means that it picks up the dark circles under my eyes and my slightly blemished skin, which I blame on all the chocolate I’ve eaten over the last few weeks almost everyday! So please bare that in mine before you see the repeat of the same ‘hair over face’, ‘looking in the other direction’ poses. I’m hoping though to really make outfits and styling a real focus on She Wears Stripes because they are my favourite, with help from Eden, so I’ve picked up some new pieces recently with this in mine, that I can’t wait to share with you all.

I don’t think these pictures really convey how unusually freezing cold it was in London when we shot this, I would have liked to show you way more shots of this beaut Dalmatian print, frilly shirt, but just a few seconds coat less was too long for me!

Wishing I’d listened to my mum & worn a vest…

Duster Coat: French Connection

Scarf: Matalan

Ruffle Shirt: Topshop (No Longer Available)

Mom Jeans: Topshop

Belt: ASOS (Similar)

I would apologise for being an outfit repeater and it not being too long since I last featured these jeans and once again this coat, but I’m not going to, because in reality no one wears clothes once and jeans and a coat are staples right? I also don’t have the funds to be the type of blogger that you never see outfit repeat!

I knew I wanted to share this outfit with you guys when I first wore it as a combination on New Years Eve, teamed with a pair of black heels, perfect for a smart/ casual night in. At the moment I’m really into pattern (ironically not stripes) and ruffles, and I’ve always been a huge lover of the mom jean over the skinny just due to their effortless cool, that I know I naturally don’t have! This Topshop shirt I instantly fell in love with when I saw it before Christmas as one of their early reductions, due to the pattern and general 80s feel and knew it would work smart and casual, I guess the beauty of shirts in general.

For a college day, and for feet warmth, I popped on my trusty converse boots and of course for extra warmth my chunky scarf from Matalan. (The best value for money ever!!! Due to it being dual coloured, super chunky , and also only now £4 in the sale.)

Until next time,

Maisie x
